Who is Summit Terminaling?

Summit Terminaling is an organization comprised of individuals who have been in the bulk liquid terminaling and pipeline industry with combined experience of over 100 years. We build, own, finance, and operate terminals and pipelines for the bulk liquid and LPG industry. Our terminal product handling experience spans across the carbon chain, from crude oil, refined products, asphalt, vegetable oils, specialty chemicals and LPGs. To say that “this is what we do” would be an understatement.

What Differentiates Us?

We have an entrepreneurial mindset. This means we are very focused on what we do operationally. We are extraordinarily high touch customer focused. Most importantly, we understand that sometimes customers needs don't always fit within the exact wording of contracts. We're focused on satisfying our customer’s needs, particularly when they are experiencing supply chain strains, stresses, or inefficiencies.

Our company success is underpinned with strong technical, engineering, operations backgrounds and extensive sales and business development experience.

We always seek to drive costs out of our operations. But never at the expense of service.

Experience Matters

Our experience is extensive when it comes to managing our group of terminals. Our terminals experience bridges from the acquisition of customers all the way through execution of our terminal services agreements and customer satisfaction. We have extensive experience with operations for a multitude of products. We are operationally hands on, validated by regular internal HSE and operations audits. From there, we make adjustments to our policies and procedures, constantly improving on being more efficient.

We're safety oriented and are strong environmental stewards. However, it doesn’t stop there. We also recognize that our customers are keenly in tune with their supplier’s conduct. As a result, we place a heavy emphasis on recognizing the laws and regulations and industry standards as well as customer values when it comes to protecting the environment and the safety of people. This may seem obvious, but our safety oriented approach always means that we are actively protecting the life and health of people around us.

Our General Approach to Growth

Our growth strategy at Summit Terminaling is to discover and develop a portfolio of US based terminals that are loosely defined as small to medium size operations. Generally speaking we like to identify terminals as a potential acquisition, acquire those terminals, and then create value in a way that others didn’t necessarily recognize. Identifying customer needs and matching those needs with existing terminals in the market that are underutilized is one approach to our growth strategy. Alternatively, we also develop brownfield and greenfield operations for our customers.

We see supply chain and distribution gaps throughout the US that a Summit terminal can close. Those supply chain and distribution gaps are typically not satisfied by large, world-scale terminals. This is why our focus is to build a portfolio of small to medium sized terminals that can be bluewater, brown water or inland located, requiring ship, barge, pipeline, truck and/or rail access.

We have partnered with EIV Capital, who is providing advice and funding for execution of our strategic plan. We are well aligned with EIV in our strategic investment interest for small to medium size investments in the United States that offer scale and reasonable return on investment.
